Events

	1st July 2005 - SkillAir is official formed This was a decision by the Learning and Skill Councils in Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire to allow the CoVE to be set up to address the shortage of Aircraft Engineering skills within the south east of England.
	25th Nov 2005 - Steering committee meets Part of the requirements of a CoVE is that its activities will be overseen by a steering group. The steering group will consist of members from the LSC and Employers to ensure that the CoVE is listening to the requirements of Industry.
	29th Nov 2005 - Attendance at SDG in Manchester Part of the CoVE requirement is that a member of the CoVE Management team will attend Sector Development Groups. This one was held in Manchester and one of the main suggestions was that sub sector group meet to discuss more focussed issues.
	15th Dec 2005 - Lecturers meeting Part of the CoVE is that all current members of Staff at all colleges are aware of the CoVE and its aims. The meeting was held at Northbrook and 20 lecturers attended a half day session on topic such as key Skills and Curriculum issues.
	31st Jan - 2nd Feb 2006 - SkillAir exhibits at Surrey Skills Festival Over the past two years Surrey LSC has held successful Skill Festivals. This year the event was held at Sandown Park racecourse. SkillAir had a stand which demonstrated ‘ How to fly a Plane’. There were over 12,000 attendees over the 3 days and a number of school teachers passed their contact details over for further discussions about presentations on ‘Aircraft engineering as a career’

	28th March 2006 - SkillAir Launch at TAG Engineering, Farnborough The official Launch of SkillAir will take place at TAG Engineering Farnborough Airport at 11-30 on 28th March with a number of select3ed employers attendance is by invitation only.
	16th June 2006 - Steering Committee meeting Farnborough Employers launch event at Farnborough Airport As part of the CoVE requirement to engage with employers Skill will hold a launch event at Farnborough Airport with guest speaker and the opportunity to discuss their training needs.
	17th - 23rd July 2006 - Farnborough International Airshow SkillAir has a stand at Farnborough International Air Show Farnborough International Air show is the premier Aero event in the UK and Skill will have a stand so that it can meet both with Employers and students so that everyone is in no doubt about SkillAirs capability to provide training at one of the partner colleges, whether this training be for maintenance or manufacture.
	16th October 2006 - SkillAir has stand at Hampshire Skill Festival Similar to the event held in Surrey the intention is that young people who want a career with aircraft can see practical aspects of what it entails and discuss opportunities with staff from the Colleges. October 2006 SkillAir has stand at Sussex Skills festival Similar to the event held in Surrey and Hampshire.
