Recently Bristow Helicopters, a worldwide helicopter group joined PART66NOW. Their aim was to get a number of their staff to pass Module 8. A major problem was to release the staff to attend a College to follow the Course. Eight students who needed to write the Module 8 examination elected to use PART66NOW and all passed at a CAA accredited examination first time! |
| Northbrook College answer an airline’s Training needs
A training provider requested a training package to support a major Airline apprenticeship programme. . The Aeronautical Engineering Course Leader and Instructors drew up a scheme of work of practical skills which was to be delivered alongside the BTEC National Award. The scheme of work was approved by the customer as meeting their organisational needs and industry standards. The airline accepted the proposal and Northbrook now have 10 apprentices progressing well on their apprenticeship The Programme Manager submitted a case for investment in additional benching and power tools to resource the contract and the ongoing repeat business The ongoing provision is now built into the Programme Areas planning. The Cove Manager will now discuss the arrangement with other airlines to attract new business. The additional work resulted in a new member of staff being recruited. The interview focused on the occupational competence of the applicant and in particular knowledge of avionics as this was known to be an emerging trend in aircraft maintenance. |
