Aircraft Engineering Licensing

Plane Picture Part-66 is the EASA licence which allows Aircraft maintenance staff to sign off work on aircraft. This is the licence that anyone who is serious about a career in Aircraft Maintenance engineering will need to achieve. SkillAir CoVE prepares students to write these exams in three ways:-

Northbrook College will start an EASA mechanics course in April 2006 which will allow the students who pass the course to obtain the A licence after 2 years of study and 1 year of work experience in a Part145 organisation. This is subject to Northbrook College achieving Part147 status from the CAA.

Brooklands College conducts Part-66 module courses during the course of the academic year. The modules running from September 2006 will be 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 & 11 (subject to number of students). When students have completed each module they write the exams at the CAA at Gatwick. This course is aimed at those who are already employed in Aircraft maintenance engineering and need to study to pass the modules.

PART66NOW is an On-line programme for those who wish to progress with aircraft engineering but who cannot get to a college to study the various modules required for the Part-66 licence. Currently Modules 1-5, 8-11, 13 &14 are available. It is expected that 6&7 and10 will be available in September 2006.
